Fellow Democrats, Colleagues and Friends

Today, I announce my candidacy for the 162nd Civil District Court and seek the Democratic Nomination. Although several individuals have already entered this race, I enter it with the belief that the 162nd judicial race should not be about who announced first or second. Instead, the 162nd race is about giving each resident of Dallas County the opportunity to elect an experienced, fair, competent and independent person for the 162nd Civil District bench.

I was raised in Dallas County and learned at a young age, the need to be of service to our community. For 30 years, I have volunteered and contributed to the Dallas Community professionally and civically. For over 10 years, I have served as a Jurist for the City of Dallas effectively managing voluminous dockets, presiding over trials and have no reversals on appeal. I have the solid judicial experience, knowledge of the law, temperament and commitment to justice required to serve as the next Jurist for the 162nd Civil District Court.

Prior to becoming a Judge, I worked for over 12 years as a litigation attorney in Dallas, Texas.  I have prosecuted and defended corporations, governmental agencies and individuals in a large array of litigation matters, including many of those that will be at issue before the 162nd Court.   My career path as attorney and judge has equipped me with the necessary perspective to be a fair and knowledgeable Jurist of the 162nd Civil District Court.

I am the current Chair of the J.L. Turner Legal Association Foundation, former Officer of the J.L. Turner Legal Association, member of the Dallas Bar Association and numerous legal and community organizations. I am also one of a few inaugural judges with the City of Dallas’s Community Courts and with the New Life Opportunity Initiative, both of which are courts designed to rehabilitate and reinvigorate communities and lives using alternative and compassionate sentencing alternatives. I have earned the respect of my peers and have been recognized by them for my commitment to the legal profession and the community.

My campaign is about ensuring the Citizens of Dallas County the opportunity to elect an experienced, competent and fair Judge for the 162nd Civil District Court. While other candidates may have announced earlier, I am distinguished by my background, trial expertise and judicial tenure of more than ten years.

My qualifications and desire to serve at a higher judicial level has earned me the growing support of State and Local Officials, Organizers, Religious Leaders, the Business Community, Legal Community and Dallas County Precinct Chairs.

I invite you to join my campaign. I am ready to work with and for you. Your support is vital to my success. To volunteer, endorse my campaign, order a yard sign or contact me, please click here.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
